  2. Attach seat: Bolt seat assembly to frame using provided hardware.
  3. Install battery: Connect red (+) then black (-) terminals; secure in tray.
  4. Add engine oil and fuel: Use SAE 10W-30 oil (check dipstick) and unleaded gasoline.
  5. Attach cutting deck: Lower deck onto lift arms and secure with pins.

WARNING! Always disconnect spark plug wire during assembly to prevent accidental starting. Ensure all bolts are tightened to specified torque.

Controls and Operation

Familiarize yourself with all controls before operation.

  1. Pre-start checklist: Check oil, fuel, tire pressure, and clear area of debris.
  2. Starting: Sit on seat, set parking brake, move control levers to neutral, turn key to start.
  3. Driving: Release parking brake. Move levers forward to go forward, backward to reverse. To turn, move one lever slower than the other or in opposite directions.
  4. Engaging deck: At desired engine speed, push PTO switch to engage blades.
  5. Stopping: Disengage PTO, move levers to neutral, engage parking brake, turn key off.

CAUTION! Operate on slopes less than 15 degrees. Mow up and down slopes, not across. Keep hands and feet away from moving parts.

Cutting Deck Operation

The 52-inch deck provides even cutting with adjustable height.

  1. Height adjustment: Use deck lift lever (left side) to select cutting height (1.5" to 4.5").
  2. Leveling deck: Park on flat surface. Measure blade tip height at all four corners; adjust deck hangers to level.
  3. Mulching: Install mulching plug and mulching blades (optional kit required).
  4. Bagging: Attach grass bagger kit to rear discharge chute.
  5. Side discharge: Remove mulching plug for side discharge operation.

Tip: For best cut, keep blades sharp and deck clean. Overlap passes by 2-3 inches.
