Assembly Instructions

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assembly requires basic tools (included).

  1. Attach handle: Align handle brackets with deck mounts, secure with bolts and wing nuts.
  2. Install wheels: Slide wheels onto axles, secure with washers and retaining clips.
  3. Attach bagging system: Connect mulch plug or grass bag assembly to rear discharge chute.
  4. Connect battery: For electric start models, connect battery cables to terminals (red to positive, black to negative).
  5. Add oil and fuel: Fill engine with SAE 30 oil (20 oz) and unleaded gasoline (87 octane minimum).

WARNING! Wear gloves during assembly. Ensure all fasteners are tight before operation.

First-Time Setup

Before first use, complete pre-operation checks.

  1. Check oil level: Ensure oil is at full mark on dipstick.
  2. Add fuel: Fill tank with fresh unleaded gasoline (no ethanol recommended).
  3. Adjust cutting height: Set lever to desired position (middle setting recommended for initial use).
  4. Test electric start: Insert key, turn to ON, press start button (ensure battery is charged).
  5. Engage drive: Squeeze drive control lever to test self-propelled function.

CAUTION! Operate outdoors only. Keep area clear of bystanders, especially children and pets.

Handle Controls: Drive control lever (squeeze to engage self-propelled), Height adjustment lever, Bagging/mulching selector, Key switch (electric start).

Engine Controls: Throttle lever (FAST/SLOW/STOP), Choke control, Recoil starter handle, Fuel valve.

Starting Procedure: 1. Turn fuel valve ON. 2. Set throttle to FAST. 3. Engage choke (cold starts). 4. Insert key and turn to START (electric) or pull recoil handle. Stopping: Set throttle to STOP, turn key OFF, close fuel valve.

Cutting & Height Adjustment

Adjust cutting height based on grass condition and season.

  1. Stop engine and wait for blade to stop completely.
  2. Pull height adjustment lever outward and move to desired position (1, 2, or 3).
  3. For mulching: Install mulch plug, ensure bag is removed.
  4. For bagging: Attach grass bag, remove mulch plug.
  5. Mow in overlapping passes for even cut.

Tip: Mow when grass is dry. Never remove more than 1/3 of grass height at once.

Maintenance Schedule

  4. Remove battery (electric start) and store in cool, dry place.
  5. Store in clean, dry location, covered if possible.

CAUTION! Never store mower with fuel in tank indoors or near open flame.
