Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assembly requires basic tools.

  1. Handle Assembly: Attach upper handle to lower frame using provided bolts.
  2. Chute Installation: Mount discharge chute to housing; connect control cables.
  3. Skid Shoes & Drift Cutters: Install and adjust to desired height.
  4. Add Engine Oil: Fill with recommended SAE 5W-30 oil before first use.
  5. Add Fuel: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (consult manual for specifics).
  6. Battery Connection: Connect battery for electric start (if equipped).

WARNING! Always disconnect spark plug during assembly. Ensure all bolts are tightened securely.

Controls and Operation

Familiarize yourself with controls before starting.

  1. Starting: For electric start, insert key, turn to ON, then press start button. For manual start, set choke, pull recoil cord.
  2. Engaging Auger: Pull auger control lever towards handle.
  3. Driving: Use shift lever to select forward/reverse speed. Engage drive lever to move.
  4. Steering: Power steering assists turns; reduce speed when turning.
  5. Chute Direction: Use remote crank to rotate chute left/right; adjust deflector for throw angle.

Maintenance Schedule

Regular maintenance ensures longevity and performance.

Before Each Use: Check oil level, fuel, tire pressure, and fasteners.

After Each Use: Clean snow from machine; let run to dry internal components.

Every 25 Hours/Season: Change engine oil, check spark plug, inspect belts and cables.

Every 100 Hours/2 Seasons: Replace spark plug, check auger paddles and scraper bar, lubricate control linkages.

Storage: Perform end-of-season maintenance (see Section 10).

Engine Care

Engine maintenance is critical for reliable starts.

  1. Oil: Check level before each use. Change oil every season or 25 hours.
  2. Air Filter: Clean foam pre-cleaner; replace paper element if dirty.
  3. Fuel: Use fresh unleaded gasoline. Add fuel stabilizer for storage.
  4. Spark Plug: Clean and gap annually; replace if worn.
  5. Battery (Electric Start): Keep charged; disconnect for storage.

Tip: Always run engine for a few minutes after use to evaporate moisture.

Auger & Impeller System

The two-stage system cuts and throws snow efficiently.

  1. Auger Paddles: Inspect for wear; replace if cracked or worn down.
  2. Shear Pins: Protect auger from obstructions. Replace with correct grade pins if sheared.
  3. Impeller: Check for damage; ensure it rotates freely.
  4. Scraper Bar: Adjust or replace if worn to maintain clearance.
  5. Lubrication: Lubricate auger shaft and chute rotation points annually.

WARNING! Disconnect spark plug before inspecting or servicing auger system.

Tire and Traction

Proper tire maintenance ensures good traction.

Check tire pressure (recommended PSI in manual). Inflate equally for straight tracking. Adjust skid shoes to protect surface and control scraping depth. For slippery conditions, consider tire chains (check compatibility).

Storage & Off-Season Care

Prepare machine for storage to prevent damage.

  1. Fuel: Add stabilizer and run engine 5 minutes. Either drain tank or fill completely.
  2. Oil: Change oil if due.
  3. Battery: Disconnect and store fully charged in cool, dry place.
  4. Clean: Thoroughly clean machine; touch up rust spots with paint.
  5. Lubricate: Lubricate all pivot points and cables.
  6. Store: Keep in dry place, cover to protect from dust.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in carburetor without stabilizer.

Safety Information

Always prioritize safety when operating snow blower.

Refer to safety labels on machine for additional warnings.
