Maintenance Schedule

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

Before Each Use: Check tire pressure, engine oil level, and fuel. Inspect blades for damage.

Every 8 Hours/ Daily: Clean deck underside, check for loose hardware.

Every 50 Hours: Change engine oil, check air filter, lubricate pivot points.

Every 100 Hours: Replace air filter, check spark plug, inspect drive belts.

Every 250 Hours: Change hydrostatic fluid and filter (if equipped), check battery.

Seasonally: Sharpen or replace blades, check tire condition.

Cutting Deck Adjustment

Proper deck leveling ensures even cut and prevents scalping.

  1. Park on level surface and set cutting height to middle position.
  2. Measure distance from blade tips to ground at all four corners of deck.
  3. Adjust deck hangers or lift links to achieve level measurement (front slightly lower than rear for best discharge).
  4. Re-check measurements after adjustment.

Tip: Always disconnect spark plug wire before working under the deck.

Storage & Winterization

Proper storage prevents fuel system issues and corrosion.

  1. Clean mower thoroughly, especially underside of deck.
  2. Add fuel stabilizer to tank and run engine for 5 minutes to circulate.
  3. Change engine oil and filter.
  4. Remove battery, clean terminals, and store in cool, dry place on a maintainer.
  5. Store in a clean, dry location, preferably with deck raised.

WARNING! Never store with fuel in tank without stabilizer. Gasoline degrades over time.

General Safety: Wear appropriate clothing, eye protection, and hearing protection. Keep bystanders away.

Slope Operation: Mow across slopes, not up and down. Avoid steep inclines.
