Assembly Instructions

Unpack all parts from box. Assembly requires adjustable wrench and screwdriver.

  1. Attach handle: Insert lower handle into deck brackets, secure with provided bolts and washers.
  2. Install upper handle: Connect to lower handle, tighten knobs securely.
  3. Attach grass bag: Hang bag frame on rear deck hooks, ensure bag is properly seated.
  4. Install side discharge chute (if using): Attach to deck opening with wing nut.
  5. Add engine oil: Fill with 20 oz SAE 30 detergent oil (check dipstick).
  6. Add gasoline: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane minimum).

WARNING! Wear gloves during assembly. Ensure all fasteners are tight before operation.

First-Time Setup

Complete assembly, then prepare for first use.

  1. Check oil level: Ensure oil is at full mark on dipstick.
  2. Add fuel: Fill tank with fresh unleaded gasoline.
  3. Adjust cutting height: Set lever to desired position (middle setting recommended for first mow).
  4. Select function: Install bag, mulch plug, or side discharge chute as needed.
  5. Start engine: Set throttle to FAST, pull recoil starter firmly.

CAUTION! Operate outdoors only. Clear mowing area of debris before starting.

Controls and Operation

Handle controls: Drive control lever, height adjustment lever, throttle control, recoil starter.

Starting Procedure:

  1. Check oil and fuel levels.
  2. Set throttle to FAST position.
  3. Prime engine (if cold) by pressing primer bulb 3 times.
  4. Pull recoil starter firmly until engine starts.
  5. Engage self-propelled drive by squeezing lever to handle.

Stopping: Release drive lever, move throttle to STOP, wait for blade to stop completely.

Cutting Height Adjustment

Single-lever adjustment controls all four wheels simultaneously.

  1. Stop engine and wait for blade to stop.
  2. Pull height adjustment lever toward wheel.
  3. Move lever to desired position (1-6, with 1 being lowest).
  4. Release lever to lock in position.
  5. Verify all wheels are at same height before mowing.

Tip: For first mow of season, set to highest position, then gradually lower.

3-in-1 Function Setup

Configure for bagging, mulching, or side discharge.

  1. Bagging: Install grass bag on rear hooks. Ensure mulch plug is removed.
  2. Mulching: Install mulch plug in deck opening. Remove bag and side chute.
  3. Side Discharge: Attach discharge chute to deck opening. Remove bag and mulch plug.

WARNING! Always stop engine before changing cutting function. Wear gloves when handling blade area.

  3. Remove spark plug: Add 1 tablespoon oil to cylinder, pull starter slowly to coat.
  4. Clean thoroughly: Remove grass clippings from deck, wheels, and engine.
  5. Store indoors: Keep in dry location, cover to prevent dust accumulation.

CAUTION! Never store with gasoline in tank indoors. Disconnect spark plug wire during maintenance.
