Assembly Instructions

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assembly requires basic tools (included).

  1. Attach handle: Align lower handle with deck brackets, secure with provided bolts and wrench.

  3. Attach bag: Slide bag frame onto rear deck hooks, ensure secure latch.
  4. Install mulching plug: For mulching, insert plug into rear discharge chute.
  5. Add engine oil: Briggs & Stratton engine requires SAE 30 oil (approx. 20 oz).
  6. Add gasoline: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane minimum).

WARNING! Always disconnect spark plug wire during assembly. Ensure all fasteners are tight.

First-Time Setup

Before first use, complete pre-operation checks.

  1. Check oil level: Ensure oil is at full mark on dipstick.
  2. Check tire pressure: Inflate to 15 PSI (front and rear).
  3. Adjust handle height: Loosen knobs, set to comfortable position, retighten.

Starting Procedure:

  1. Check oil and fuel levels.
  2. Move throttle to FAST position.
  3. Prime engine (3-4 presses if cold).
  4. Pull recoil starter cord firmly.
  5. Allow engine to warm up 30 seconds.

Operating: Engage drive control to self-propel. Squeeze blade control to handlebar to engage cutting blade. Release to stop blade. Always operate at FULL throttle for best cut.

Stopping: Release blade control, move throttle to STOP, disconnect spark plug wire for maintenance.

Cutting Height Adjustment

Single-lever adjustment changes height for all four wheels simultaneously.

  1. Stop engine and disconnect spark plug.
  2. Pull height adjustment lever outward.
  3. Move lever to desired position (1-6, lowest to highest).
  4. Release lever to lock into place.
  5. Verify all wheels are at same height.

Tip: For first cut of season or overgrown grass, use highest setting, then lower for subsequent cuts.

3-in-1 Deck Function

Configure for bagging, mulching, or side discharge.

  1. Bagging: Install rear bag. Ensure mulching plug is removed.
  2. Mulching: Install mulching plug in rear discharge chute. Bag must be removed.
  3. Side Discharge: Remove both bag and mulching plug. Install optional side discharge chute (sold separately).

WARNING! Always stop engine before changing deck configuration. Keep hands and feet away from discharge area.

Blade Sharpening: Disconnect spark plug. Remove blade bolt (clockwise thread). Sharpen at original angle. Balance blade before reinstalling.

Storage & Winterization

Prepare mower for extended storage (especially winter).

  1. Run engine to warm oil, then drain completely.
  2. Add fresh oil to correct level.
  3. Add fuel stabilizer to tank, run engine 5 minutes to circulate.
  4. Either run carburetor dry OR fill tank completely to prevent condensation.
  5. Clean entire mower, especially underside of deck.
  6. Remove spark plug, add 1 oz of oil to cylinder, pull starter slowly to coat, reinstall plug.
  7. Store in clean, dry place, preferably off concrete floor.

CAUTION! Gasoline is flammable. Perform in well-ventilated area away from ignition sources.
